When it comes to Dragon Ball, a lot of people say that the franchise is all about aliens getting all the credit, such as Saiyans and Namekians. While that is partially true, there are plenty of Earthlings in Dragon Ball who sometimes turn out to be just as important as the beloved Saiyans Goku and Vegeta, for instance.

Last time, we brought a top-tier list of the Saiyans in Dragon Ball, and for good reasons. Goku and Vegeta, two of the main characters in the whole franchise, are fully Saiyans, not Earthlings. They came to Earth from planet Vegeta, which was destroyed many years ago by the diabolical tyrant known as Frieza.

This time, it’s time for Dragon Ball’s Earthlings to receive some love. Behold:

S-Tier:

Uub
Tien
Gohan
Trunks

Uub is the reincarnation of Majin Buu, the strongest opponent that the Z warriors had to face in Dragon Ball Z. Uub is a village boy with exceptional strength, and he participated in the World Martial Arts Tournament against Goku in order to help his village with money. While Uub hasn’t been so important in Dragon Ball Z, as he only appeared for a few episodes at the end of the series, he had a much more important role in Dragon Ball GT. That’s because Uub has fought alongside Goku in GT, as the two warriors have trained together for several years.

Tien has been a fierce rival of Goku back in the original Dragon Ball series when the beloved Saiyan was just a child. In that show, Tien made a lot of major contributions, as he even tried to stop King Piccolo’s terror. While Tien has been left aside a lot in Dragon Ball Z, he remains an Earthling with unique fighting techniques that have the potential to stop even a Super Saiyan in his tracks: Mafuba, Solar Flare, and more.

Gohan and Trunks are half-Saiyans and half humans. Both of them are highly influential in the Dragon Ball franchise, and they even defeated some of the major villains of the show. Gohan is the son of Goku and Chi Chi, while Trunks is the son of Vegeta and Bulma. Even though they’re not fully Saiyans, both Gohan and Trunks can become Super Saiyans.

A-Tier

Master Roshi
Android 18
Pan
Bulma

Master Roshi might be a decrepit old man for the most part of Dragon Ball Z, but he was a highly important character in the original Dragon Ball series while the writers tried to “revive” him in Dragon Ball Super as well, as he participated in the Tournament of Power arc. Even though Roshi has always often been goofy and lecherous, he was the first trainer of Goku and the one who taught the iconic Kamehameha wave to the beloved Saiyan.

Android 18 was originally introduced as an evil android programmed to destroy Goku, but she later became fully human and realized that her ways of solving things were wrong. Android 18’s most memorable moment in Dragon Ball was when she beat the Saiyan pride out of Vegeta in the Cell Saga of Dragon Ball Z. Android 18 later became Krillin’s wife, and the two also had a daughter, Marron.

Pan is the granddaughter of Goku and also the daughter of Gohan and Videl. Pan rapidly became a martial artist at a very young age and traveled across the galaxy alongside Goku and Trunks in Dragon Ball GT in their quest to find the dark star dragon balls. Known for her annoying personality, Pan has proven to be pretty strong in the show for her age.

Bulma, the wife of Vegeta and mother of Trunks, is the oldest Dragon Ball character alongside Goku. Bulma and Goku appeared in the very first episode of the original Dragon Ball series. While Bulma definitely had her mistakes throughout the franchise, as she has often proven to be willing to blackmail people to get what she wants, she is still a bright scientist. Even though Bulma doesn’t know any martial arts, apart from the moments when she smacks Master Roshi for trying to touch her where he shouldn’t, she has major scientific contributions to the Dragon Ball franchise. Bulma is responsible for creating the radar that can track down the dragon balls, and she also created a device capable of transforming Vegeta into a Super Saiyan 4 in Dragon Ball GT, for instance. These are just two of Bulma’s most important scientific achievements.

B-Tier

Yamcha
Krillin
Yajirobe
Chi Chi

Even though Yamcha is often depicted as a total failure in memes across the internet, he still made some important contributions to Dragon Ball. He has also been one of Master Roshi’s students many years ago in the original Dragon Ball series, as he is capable of the iconic Kamehameha technique as well. Yamcha also knows other powerful fighting moves, such as the Spirit Ball or the Wolf Fang Fist. He has also been a tough competitor for Tien at the World Martial Arts Tournament.

Krillin is another one of Dragon Ball’s mocking material, but even so, he remains the main guy who is willing to throw the senzu beans at Goku and the rest when they get injured or tired too much. That is a major contribution, and let’s also not forget that Krillin has one of the finest broads in Dragon Ball: Android 18. Otherwise, Krillin has also trained under Master Roshi, and the little guy has also trained alongside Goku when they were kids. Believe it or not, but back in the original Dragon Ball series, Goku and Krillin were almost even in strength.

Yajirobe also confronted Goku when he was first introduced in Dragon Ball. Yajirobe is indeed a martial artist, but even so, he almost never gets involved in any fight anymore. After the King Piccolo Saga from the original Dragon Ball series, YAjirobe decided to remain in the Korin Tower alongside Master Korin. Yajirobe also often provides senzu beans for Goku and the rest of the gang. Even though he definitely is overweight, Yajirobe has proven to be agile and cunning enough when it was needed – he cut off Vegeta’s tail in the early Dragon Ball Z, for instance.

Chi Chi, the wife of Goku and mother of Gohan and Goten, also knows a bit of martial arts. Chi Chi confronted Goku at the World Martial Arts Tournament many years ago, and that was the moment they fell in love with each other and decided to marry. After Gohan was born, Chi Chi let go of her martial arts skills almost completely. However, she proved to still know a thing or two about fighting when she trained Goten, the second son of Goku, during the Majin Buu Saga of Dragon Ball Z.

C-Tier:

Mr. Satan
Goten
Videl

Mr. Satan is easily the most annoying character in Dragon Ball history. He’s so annoying that there’s no possible reason for his introduction in the franchise other than to annoy people. Mr. Satan, also known as Hercule, had won the World Martial Arts Tournament in a period when Goku, Vegeta, and the rest weren’t around, as they had to save the planet from much greater foes. While Mr. Satan clearly knows some martial arts, he is nothing compared to Goku and any other Z warrior. Even so, Mr. Satan can’t accept the fact that he is not the strongest and most important fighter ever, given that he has won the tournament. He often tries to win credit for achievements that are not his own, as he is a total failure.

Goten, the youngest son of Goku and Chi Chi, has proven enormous potential when he was first introduced in the Majin Buu Saga of Dragon Ball Z. Goten was able to go Super Saiyan at a very young age: 7 years old. He is half Earthling and half Saiyan, and despite his power, he barely got involved in any important fights on his own. It was pretty disappointing to witness such a downfall throughout the Dragon Ball franchise, as Goten could have been a lot more important.

Videl, the wife of Gohan and mother of Pan, has proven to have some level of martial arts skills throughout the Dragon Ball franchise. Videl is also the daughter of Mr. Satan, the former world champion in martial arts. She participated in the World Martial Arts Tournament against Spopovich and proved courageous enough to stay firm in the face of Majin Buu when the villain was preparing to wreak havoc. Videl is far from the powers of Gohan, Goku, or Vegeta, but she has still proven some level of determination and courage.

Dragon Ball is well-known for including a high number of characters, while new ones have also been added in the Dragon Ball Super anime and manga. While the future of Super is uncertain, we can say for sure that the continuation of the Budokai Tenkaichi series is coming – “Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO” is coming soon to those who prefer their gaming on PC and other platforms as well!
