Let’s all be honest on this one: none of us likes rules in general. It’s in human nature to be tempted to break them. Not being able to use your WhatsApp account from more than one smartphone was simply annoying, but gladly, Meta finally provides a long-awaited fix.

Some of you might ask, ‘why would you need to use the same WhatsApp account from more than one smartphone?.’ Well, there’s actually a method to such madness! Let’s say you buy yourself a new phone. That’s something that most of us do nowadays, as phones usually don’t last more than 3 or 4 years. You obviously want to access your WhatsApp account from your new phone, but it becomes problematic. Is it clear now?

You can use up to five phones for the same WhatsApp account

WhatsApp has expanded the possibility of using more than one device for your single WhatsApp account. Now it’s possible to use up to five devices at the same time for your WhatsApp account, as the official WhatsApp Blog reveals. The announcement is crystal clear:

A feature highly requested by users, now you can link your phone as one of up to four additional devices, the same as when you link with WhatsApp on web browsers, tablets and desktops. Each linked phone connects to WhatsApp independently, ensuring that your personal messages, media, and calls are end-to-end encrypted, and if your primary device is inactive for a long period, we automatically log you out of all companion devices.

The implementation of the new feature means that the user is now able to switch between phones without the need to sign out. He can also instantly pick up his chats where he left them. Or, he can hand over his devices to more of his friends in order to convince his crush to go out with him. More brains, better chances of success, right?

If this method doesn’t work with your crush, either, you know what they say: there are plenty more fish in the sea!
