Walmart is Giving FREE Mid-Range Smartphones to 740,000 People

Whether we like it or not, we’re all living in the smartphone era, and having a life without such a little gadget is practically impossible. We often need to connect to the internet, keep an eye on our email inbox, check the weather forecast, make an online payment, take a picture at something, or even listen to some good music while we’re on our way to work. These are just a few reasons why smartphones are playing crucial roles in our lives.

Although pretty much anyone can own a decent smartphone these days, there are companies that are giving them away for free. One of them is Walmart, as it gives free mid-range phones to 740,000 of its associates, according to FoxBusiness.com.

A FREE Samsung Galaxy XCover Pro for each of the 740,000 associates

Samsung Galaxy XCover Pro has a retail price set at $499.99, and it can easily be considered a mid-range phone. To mention only the highlights, the gadget is equipped with IP68 dust/water resistance, 4GB of RAM, a 25MP main camera, and it’s powered by an Exynos 9611 processor. A case and protection plan are also included in the offer.

The offer marks the launch of the Me@Walmart app, which was built for helping employees simplify their tasks, serve the customers better, and more.
Drew Holler, who is Walmart U.S. senior vice president of people operations, and Kellie Romack, the vice president or product and associate experience, said:

As retail continues to evolve – and quickly – it’s more critical than ever to equip our people with the tools and technology they need for success,
Doing so makes work easier and more enjoyable, and it keeps the focus where we need it most – delivering a great in-store, pickup and delivery experience for our customers.

For a lot of people, smartphones had become even more important than a laptop or desktop PC, which is understandable. There are so many phones out there that are sporting more powerful hardware components than the good old PC’s!
