Super Mario RPG, a famous Super NES game remake, has been revealed for the Nintendo Switch and will be released very soon as Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars.

The new game will blend the turn-based gameplay of the original RPG title with an aesthetic style like that of the majority of contemporary Super Mario titles and the most current Super Mario Bros. movie. The game’s video made its debut as one of the announcements at a recent Nintendo Direct event.

It begins with a vintage pixelated appearance before switching to contemporary 3D visuals.

After being let down by more recent attempts at Mario RPGs, such as Paper Mario: The Origami King, many fans of the original Super Mario RPG have been clamoring for a long time for a restored version of this timeless title.

In the classic video game The Legend of the Seven Stars, Mario, Peach, Bowser, and other pals banded together to battle King Smithy after the villainous robotic blacksmith destroyed Star Road and dispersed parts of the seven stars over the globe.

The characters, gameplay elements, and story of the cherished, classic Mario RPG are all there in this forthcoming Super Mario RPG, but it has a completely different appearance.

This Super Mario game is expected to drop on November 17.

The Nintendo Direct event featured the game’s announcement, which was preceded by a teaser trailer that can be viewed on Nintendo of America’s official YouTube channel.

Although there are currently no preorder bonuses for the game, Super Mario RPG is already available for preorder in a digital format on the Nintendo Store.

Over 27 years ago, in 1996, The Legend of the Seven Stars was dropped on the Super NES, which was the game’s original version.

With newly remastered graphics, the Super Mario RPG’s gameplay seems to be fairly consistent with the game’s original version.

To battle the evil Smithy Gang and King Smithy, Mario and Peach are joined by Bowser, Mallow, and Geno.

The Smithy Gang seizes control of Bowser’s Keep in the Super Mario RPG after a giant sword by the name of Exor strikes it and obliterates the Star Road.

Mario sets out on a mission to locate Princess Peach, Bowser, and new friends while looking for all seven of the scattered star fragments in order to defeat King Smithy and restore peace to the Kingdom and the ability to grant wishes once more.

The gameplay for the Super Mario RPG takes players to a variety of locations, including the Mole Mountains, Nimbus Land, and more, as Mario defends the rights of local citizens and gains new allies to help him on his journey.

Throughout the overworld, Mario engages in turn-based combat with a variety of foes.

Like previous RPGs, Mario and a group of his buddies take turns fighting in the battles, and there is equipment that may be used to your advantage.

In the Super Mario RPG, each party member’s stats, such as Hit Points, Attack, Magic Defense, Speed, and more, may be raised during combat.

Before moving on to the next zone, the player must achieve certain objectives in each of the zones.

The graphical overhaul that Nintendo has given the upcoming Super Mario RPG sets it apart from the classic Legend of the Seven Stars game from the SNES era.

The graphics and cinematics of this lively and colorful game are in line with those of more recent Mario titles and also resemble the appearance of The Super Mario Bros. movie, but they also maintain the original game’s short and squat character design.

In the redesigned artwork of the remake, special Super Mario RPG characters like Geno and Mallow as well as adversaries like Birdo and Booster are brought back from the original.

To update the soundtrack for Super Mario RPG on the Nintendo Switch, the original composer from Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars is also making a comeback.

The project’s composer, Yoko Shimomura, said that she is working on composing all the music for Mario’s new adventures.

The trailer includes some of the music, highlighting its classic but modern composition.

Even the original characters, like Geno, who were specially created for the story of this RPG game, have new animation and artwork that give the cinematics a more contemporary vibe.

One of the first instances that Nintendo let a third-party business, Squaresoft, develop a game using one of Nintendo’s intellectual properties was with Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars.

The SNES game garnered a cult following and is sometimes seen as the apex of the Mario RPG adventures, despite being released just a few months before the new Nintendo 64 platform diverted consumers’ focus away from the older titles.

Fans of both Mario video games and the RPG subgenre as a whole have long wished for this gorgeously rebuilt version of the game.

On the Nintendo eShop, Super Mario RPG is available for digital presale and will be published on November 17 for the Nintendo Switch.
