A brand-new Research Breakthrough has just been revealed for Pokemon Go! This time around, it seems that we’re going to return to Unova and catch a Water/Ghost-type ‘mon.
The Research Breakthrough aired for the first time back in 2018, featuring some cool weekly challenges and an encounter with a Pokemon. We have all the details about the April 2021 edition, and by the looks of it, we sure have a lot of stuff to do, especially when a male Frillish it’s in the cards.

Every completed task will grant you a reward. The Research Breakthrough for April 2021 include:
Buddy/ Friendship tasks
- Offer your Buddy 3 treats: Sun Stone;
- Get 5 hearts with your Buddy: Cubone (Shiny);
- Send 3 presents to friends: Bunnelby;
- Trade a Pokemon: Wurmple (Shiny).
Battling tasks
- Battle another Trainer: Belsprout (Shiny)/ Oddish (Shiny);
- Get to level 3 or higher Raid: Omanyte (Shiny)/ Kabuto (Shiny);
- Defeat a Team Go Rocket Grunt: Stunky;
- Win a Raid: Ferroseed (Shiny);
- Win 5 Raids: Aerodactyl (Shiny).
Catching tasks
- Catch 5 Ground-type Pokemon:Â 1x Max Potion;
- Catch 5 Grass-Type Pokemon:Â Chikorita (Shiny);
- Use 5 Berries to help catch Pokemon:Â Loudred, 500x Stardust/ 6x Razz Berry/ 2x Pinap Berry/ 5x Great Ball;
- Catch a Dragon-type Pokemon: 3x Rare Candy/ 1,500x Stardust / 2x Golden Razz Berry/ 10x Ultra Balls/ Dratini (Shiny);
- Catch a Ditto:Â 10x Ultra Balls/ 1,500x Stardust/ 3x Rare Candy/ 2x Golden Razz Berry;

- Evolve a Pokemon: Eevee (Shiny);
- Power up Pokemon 5 times: 10x Venusaur Mega Energy/ 10x Beedrill Mega Energy;
- Use an incense: Onix (Shiny).
Remember that you can collect only one stamp daily. So, hurry up and complete all the tasks to reach the final goal and get a male Frillish.
