After The Little Mermaid’s big debut, Disney took into consideration remaking other animated movies.
For example, Alice in Wonderland, Cinderella, Aladdin, and Beauty and the Beast have all been remade, and even though they haven’t always had the best reviews, the box office totals have been tremendous.
The Little Mermaid is currently the Number 1 movie in the world. Despite Snow White, Lilo & Stitch, and Moana that are coming soon, here are five more films on the list for a remake:
The Black Cauldron (1985)
The film finds a bard, a swine-herder, and a Princess battling an evil Emperor, endeavoring to take over the world using the titular cauldron.
Disney has remade the classics, leaving their less acclaimed efforts from the 1970s and ’80s alone.
The Rescuers (1977)
The movie is based on a series of books by Margery Sharp. Following two mice, Bernard and Bianca, are hunting for a young mouse whom treasure hunters have abducted to steal a giant diamond. Along their journey, they receive help from an albatross, a dragonfly, and a cat.
The Great Mouse Detective (1986)
The Great Mouse Detective has a Sherlock Holmes concept idea, finding the titular mouse, and his trusty sidekick Major Dr. David Q. Dawson, on the trail of their arch-enemy Professor Ratigan.
Frozen (2013)
The Frozen movie will happens, being one of the biggest Disney hits. Kristen Bell and Idina Menzel play the sisters who fall out in icy fashion, while Josh Gad steals almost every scene as talking snowman Olaf.
Tangled (2010)
The story with the princess with the most extended hair was a hit in 2010. Tangled was a critical success, Giving the Grimm fairy-tale a modern makeover. Having Mandy Moore voice Rapunzel, while Zachary Levi is Flynn Ryder, the handsome thief.
These are all the films for now, and wish to launch them sooner!
