The ‘Block Contacts’ Feature Arrives For Tinder

It’s a pretty widespread misconception that you can’t really find love online, but Tinder is desperately struggling to prove them wrong. The dating app has a lot of useful features, as it allows the user to meet someone else based on his preferences and location. Once the two like each others’ profiles, they can communicate and exchange phone numbers, social media links, etc.

However, Tinder was still lacking a ‘block contacts’ feature for uploading a contact list and choose what people you don’t want to meet within the dating app. The functionality is very useful if the user finds certain people as obnoxious or he or she doesn’t want the spouse or life partner to know about his or her wish to meet someone else online. But according to TechCrunch.com, it won’t be a problem anymore, as the publication announces the arrival of the ‘block contacts’ feature for Tinder.

The ‘Block Contacts’ feature is rolling out

If you have Tinder installed on your phone, you should see the new feature available any day now. The addition also helps a person who feels stalked or don’t want his or her ex to know about the new intentions of making a new relationship with somebody else. There could be both dark sides and positive sides to the feature, although the developers behind Tinder most likely only want to make their customers feel safer and more comfortable.

Bernadette Morgan, who is Group Product Manager, Trust & Safety at Tinder, declared:

We’re rolling out Block Contacts as an additional resource empowering members with peace of mind by helping create a worry-free space for them to spark new connections.

During the testing of the ‘Block Contacts’ feature in Japan, India, and Korea, users didn’t seem to hesitate one bit to activate it.

If you wish to use Tinder’s new feature for yourself, all you have to do is go to the ‘Settings’ menu under your profile icon, type ‘Block Contacts’, and grant permission for the app to do its thing.
