The development of a new Mass Effect game has been confirmed by BioWare. Although the information is scarce at the moment, it appears safe to assume that this will be a sequel to the first three Mass Effect games, even if it will be numbered Mass Effect 5.

A short teaser trailer was released in 2020 to introduce the game, and a stylish poster was released shortly thereafter, both of which fueled fan speculation that the original Normandy crew would be making a comeback appearance.

BioWare released the first teaser trailer for the new Mass Effect game at The Game Awards 2020, and it was spectacular. In its short duration of less than two minutes, fans were eager to analyze every frame for clues about the franchise’s future. As soon as the trailer for Mass Effect 3 dropped, fans began theorizing and making assumptions about what it could mean.

In the beginning, you can hear the instantly unmistakable sound of a Reaper’s trumpet. Later, keen observers noticed that the unknown woman walking over the cold terrain is accompanied by the silhouette of a Reaper. Gamble has verified that the Reapers seen in the teaser are indeed remnants of the army that was defeated by Shepard at the end of Mass Effect 3.

The first photograph posted on N7 and the announcement trailer have given us some information to work with. While we wait for official word from Electronic Arts or BioWare, we’ve compiled everything we know about the impending Mass Effect sequel into one hub for your perusal.
