Dragon Ball FighterZ: Best Characters Tier List for 2022

Credit: fightersgeneration.com

Although Dragon Ball FighterZ is more than four years old, it remains a highly playable fighting game even today. It also gets a lot of love from the developers, who are constantly bringing updates. ‘Adapt or go home’ seems to be the motto of the gaming world today, and nobody should be blamed for it. The competition is huge, as many developers want to impress the world with their games.

If you already play Dragon Ball FighterZ, maybe you would be willing to become better at it. That’s why we’re here to help in informing you about the best characters to choose in 2022, according to a tier list published by ofzenandcomputing.com. We’re also adding our own comments on the tiers. The roster of fighters is pretty generous in the game, but it could become a difficult task to choose the right one for you.

S-Tier

  • Super Saiyan Blue Vegito
  • Bardock
  • Gotenks
  • Android 21
  • Vegeta
  • Kid Buu
  • SS4 Gogeta
  • Android 21 (Lab Coat)
  • Goku (GT)

Seeing SSG Vegito here can only delight us. The merged form between Goku and Vegeta was introduced in Dragon Ball Super when the beloved Saiyans were fighting Zamasu. That was an epic battle, although it was very brief. It’s great to see that SSB Vegito is great even in video games!

A-Tier

  • SS4 Gogeta
  • Piccolo
  • Broly
  • Cell
  • Goku, Kefla
  • Adult Gohan
  • Ultra Instinct Goku
  • Super Saiyan Blue Goku

Piccolo’s addition to the A-Tier is the news that many Dragon Ball fans were expecting. The Namekian has been a hugely influential character back in Dragon Ball Z, and the fans were upset when he was left aside in Dragon Ball Super.

Cell is another interesting addition, although perhaps not many were expecting him to be in the A-Tier. However, the evil android was still one of the main villains in Dragon Ball Z and the second-most powerful one after Majin Buu.

B-Tier

  • Android 18
  • Majin Buu
  • Android 16
  • Super Saiyan Blue Gogeta
  • Super Baby 2
  • Master Roshi
  • Fused Zamasu
  • Janemba
  • Tien
  • Videl
  • Hit
  • Jiren

Welcome back, Master Roshi! The old turtle hermit has been reactivated in Dragon Ball Super by the writers, who have granted him an important role in saving the entire universe during the Tournament of Power. The developers of Dragon Ball FighterZ have not forgotten that and chose to bring Master Roshi into Dragon Ball FighterZ. Being present in the B-Tier is indeed a fairly decent position, and we’re glad to see Roshi there!

C-Tier

  • Broly (DBS)
  • Super Saiyan Blue Vegeta
  • Nappa
  • Krillin
  • Goku Black
  • Beerus
  • Super Saiyan Goku
  • Android 17
  • Trunks
  • Cooler

Here’s where things start to fade away, as the members of the C-Tier aren’t exactly those that you would bring along to a fight. But still, they can help a lot if you don’t have better options.  Seeling Krillin alongside names like Goku Black, Broly, or Beerus is indeed amusing, but hey, video games work in mysterious ways!

D-Tier

  • Frieza
  • Captain Ginyu

Frieza has already been revived too many times in Dragon Ball Super, and it was fun to see the former intergalactic tyrant playing a huge role in the franchise once again. Seeing him in this tier is indeed surprising, as many would have expected him to be placed in a much higher tier.

E-Tier

  • Yamcha
  • Super Saiyan Vegeta

This pair surely makes us laugh! Yamcha was Bulma’s boyfriend for many years. But later on, she married Vegeta and had a child with him. When Vegeta first met Bulma, he was a totally evil person who wanted to destroy the Earth and achieve immortality using the dragon balls. Yamcha was obviously frustrated by Bulma’s crush on the Saiyan Prince and hated Vegeta a lot.
