Zelda: Breath of the Wild – Top Side Quests with the Most Unique and Useful Rewards!

screenrant.com

Breath of the Wild offers a lot of side quests for players to do, like many other open world games, but just a few are clearly more rewarding than all the others. Many of them only provide currency, supplies, or food items.

There are certain specific quests that feature interesting rewards, even if it could be argued that most other game side quests are much more about the narrative or exploring than the actual prize at the end of it.

Breath of the Wild may be a cut above previous open world games, but it isn’t immune to the issues that plague the genre.

For example, many of the game’s 76 side quests don’t provide prizes that are that exciting to get beyond money or resources.

However, a select number offer really distinctive benefits that aren’t available anyplace else throughout the game.

So if that is what you are interested in finding, here are the side quests that will bring you the most desirable rewards in the game, offering players things like rare equipment, unique upgrades and even brand new areas on the map!

“Hylian Homeowner”

The “Hylian Homeowner” quest offers possibly the most unique prize of any quest in the game – a home that can be further customized with furniture, lighting, and a variety of display mounts for weapons and shields among other buyable improvements.

The home is entirely useless in terms of power, but it is a lovely touch for many gamers to experience.

“From the Ground Up”

Purchasing the home also triggers “From the Ground Up,” one of Breath of the Wild’s finest quests.

Talking to Hudson after purchasing the home in “Hylian Homeowner” reveals that he wants to found a new town, launching the quest.

The mission, which takes place in Lake Akkala, requires quite a bit of movement and gives players the errand of gathering wood, looking for specific NPCs of various races, and even organizing a wedding at the conclusion.

It’s one of BOTW’s most well-liked quests and for a good reason!

The continuous growth in “From the Ground Up” allows players to observe the town evolve step-by-step, as it gradually transforms from an empty patch of ground to a living location.

These vendors selling uncommon products also start to inhabit the town as players accomplish more levels of the quest.

The growth of Tarrey Town itself is its own reward, giving players a fulfilling sense of having helped bring about a new community even in the wake of the tragedy that has befallen Hyrule, while it also gives financial incentives by paying them three diamonds at the conclusion.

“The Priceless Maracas”

Players are quite likely to encounter “The Priceless Maracas,” one of Breath of the Wild’s side missions, on their approach to Kakariko Village pretty early in the game.

This quest offers some of the game’s most essential improvements.

The player gains the ability to increase their inventory by swapping Korok Seeds for more weapon or shield slots in exchange for the straightforward job of eliminating a camp of Bokoblins and reclaiming Hestu’s maracas.

The final prize for collecting every Korok seed is somewhat less valuable, but Hestu’s first side mission is obvious for a reason—it gives the many, many Korok Seeds scattered throughout the world a purpose.

“Robbie’s Research”

The “Robbie’s Research” mission can be a bit more challenging; after it is complete, it will also necessitate the use of BOTW’s rare Guardian parts, and it requires players to go to the considerably more remote and hazardous area of Akkala in order to locate Robbie in the Akkala Ancient Tech Lab.

It’s a little trickier than it was in Hateno, but all it takes is igniting the lab’s furnace with a blue flame once you get there.

However, upon completion, the quest grants three powerful Ancient Arrows, the option to purchase more arrows, as well as special anti-guardian gear that includes a full armor set and one of each type of weapon.

“Slated for Upgrades”

One of the most obvious quests in Breath of the Wild is “Slated for Upgrades,” which can be found early on at the Hateno Tech Lab.

Even though the materials must be taken from Guardians in most cases, the goal of this side mission is straightforward: the player only needs to locate and deliver a few special ingredients.

In exchange, they will receive enhancements to Shiekah Slate features that cannot be gained in any other manner.

When the mission is finished, the Shiekah Sensor can now monitor things, the Remote Bomb can now deal greater damage, and Stasis may now freeze adversaries as well as objects.
