During the original Dragon Ball Z timeline, Future Gohan had to join forces with Trunks to fight the diabolical androids created by Dr. Gero. The two warriors fought bravely and fiercely, but their powers weren’t enough to defeat Android 17 and 18. However, Trunks survived those intense battles somehow and decided to use a time machine to go back in time in order to warn his friends about what’s about to happen to them in about three years. That’s how the storyline from the Cell Saga that all Dragon Ball Z fans are familiar with started.

Trunks and Future Gohan were more than just battle partners. They were best friends. Gohan lost his life while confronting the androids, and Trunks suffered tremendously over his friend’s demise. Future Gohan was also the mentor of Trunks back in the day when Vegeta’s son was just a teenager.

Super Dragon Ball Heroes reunites Future Gohan and Trunks

The Super Dragon Ball Heroes anime is renowned for bringing back many Dragon Ball characters of the past. It has done so with warriors such as Janemba, Raditz, Bardock, and a lot more. It was now time to make many fans of the legendary franchise happy by reuniting Future Gohan with Trunks. The sons of Goku and Vegeta, respectively, were once again joining forces and ready to fight in Super Dragon Ball Heroes. Here’s the absolute proof:

While Future Gohan charges up in the well-known regular Super Saiyan form with golden hair, Trunks uses the Super Saiyan God transformation. Theoretically, Trunks should be a lot stronger than his friend and mentor at this point, but you can never know for sure when it comes to Dragon Ball.

The Super Dragon Ball Heroes TV series debuted back in 2018 and has had 48 episodes so far. Who knows how the exciting stories will end?
