The Periscope Camera May Be Limited To The iPhone Pro Max Until 2024

The periscope camera is one of the alleged differentiating features that will be available on the expected iPhone 15 Pro Max or Ultra but will not be included in Apple’s iPhone 15 Pro, which is a smaller model. A recent allegation suggests that the sensor might continue to be Apple’s exclusive property until the release of the iPhone 16 Pro Max.

The periscope telephoto camera has been a premium component in certain top Android phones in recent years, but it has not been included in any iPhones to this day. This is a notable omission. It has been reported that the iPhone 15 Pro Max, or whatever the gadget will be named, would be the first Apple-branded camera phone to arrive with such a sensor. Alternatively, the name of the smartphone is yet unknown.

Ming-Chi Kuo, a consultant and well-known leaker, predicts that Apple will continue to keep the sophisticated telephoto lens an exclusive feature until the iPhone 16 Pro Max or 16 Ultra is released. This information runs counter to what was reported in the South Korean website The Elec, which said that the fourth camera on the iPhone 16 Pro will be the same as the camera on the iPhone 16 Plus.

To begin, a periscope telephoto camera enables smartphones to have increased zoom capabilities without having a bigger camera bump. This is possible since the camera itself is a periscope. In contrast to conventional zoom sensors, which only provide a magnification level of 2x or 3x without any loss of clarity, a periscope may capture images with a magnification level of 10x or more while preserving the majority of the features.

It is still unclear what additional improvements the iPhone 15 Pro Max will offer over Apple’s iPhone 15 Pro, in addition to the upgraded camera and greater battery capacity that it will include. When they do become official, probably in September, it is anticipated that both variants will have capacitive buttons, and there is a possibility that the frame will be made of titanium. It’s unclear whether the inclusion of the fourth sensor would result in considerably higher cost for the top-end model.
