Regarding our health, sleep quantity and quality are truly important. A good night of relaxing sleep is shown to have several benefits, including a better quality of life. Also, sleep deprivation is associated with weakened immune responses and systematic inflammation.

If you ever find yourself with an uncharacteristic bump or getting sick more often, the cause could be your sleep.

Find out more about your daily sleep routine.

The Relationship Between Sleep And Inflammation

There are two main theories about this relationship. The first one has to do with the glymphatic system. It is a waste authorization system for the brain and central nervous system. With less sleep, this system is not as effective as it should be, which leads to inflammation.

The second one focuses on blood pressure. Dr. Offenberger said:

[…], when you’re not sleeping well, blood pressure remains elevated, which may trigger inflammatory cells to turn on.

Researchers show that sleep deprivation results in higher and more sustained stress levels.

How Can We Solve Sleep Problems?

There is a simple solution: Get more sleep. It seems easy, but it’s not. Sometimes we just don’t have time to rest.

Is there another solution if I can not get more sleep?

The answer is yes. Researchers found something new. There is a relationship between sleep, inflammation, immune system markers, and exercise. One study split subjects into three different groups:

  1. A regular sleep that got eight hours in bed for five consecutive nights
  2. A restricted sleep that got four hours in bed for five nights
  3. A sleep restriction and exercise that got four hours in bed and three sessions of exercise throughout five nights.

People who practiced moderate exercise improved their sleep schedule.

Sleep is the most important thing, and we have to take care of our health as soon as possible. If that helped you, there are coming more information!
