We’ve compiled a cool list of everything you need to know about Samurott, including its best moveset and features.

Samurott Best Moveset

Even if Samurott isn’t the most useful Water-type ‘mon in Pokemon Go, we can evolve the ‘mon and unlock the Unova starter’s best Charged Move: Hydro Pump!

Also, Samurott will learn a new Charged Move during the September Community Day, known as Razor Shell. Let’s find out how we can explore best the Pokemon’s potential, as well as the best moveset to teach it.

Fury Cutter + Hydro Pump

Samurott’s best moveset is Fury Cutter (Fast Move) and Hydro Pump (Charged Move).

For example, Fury Cutter comes with faster energy generation allowing you to access Samurott’s greatest Charged Moves. On the other hand, Hydro Pump can deal huge damage and benefits from STAB.

TIP: if you can get a second Charged Move, choose the Bug-type Megahorn; it’s very efficient against Grass-type ‘mon!

Samurott Charged Moves

  • Hydro Pump (Water)
  • Razor Shell (Water)
  • Blizzard (Ice)
  • Megahorn (Bug)

Samurott Fast Moves

  • Waterfall (Water)
  • Fury Cutter (Bug)

As you can notice, Samurott can learn only two Fast Moves and four Charged Moves. But is Razor Shell good in Pokemon Go?

Samurott’s Razor Shell

Razor Shell deals a low 35 damage and costs 35 energy. So, it doesn’t seem that this skill is going to be very useful to Samurott’s moveset.

Luckily, Hydro Pump is only 5 more energy to use and deals up to 45 more damage if you can get through your enemy’s shields.
