The Harry Potter ‘verse expands once again, this time into the sports genre! Well, as fantasy always draws us closer to the best stories, so does sports in one way or another. Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions will be the newest game in the Harry Potter franchise, and news about it being a multiplayer game makes everything even more interesting!

Warner Bros. has just announced the new Harry Potter video game, dubbed Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions. The game will be a competitive multiplayer game based on the made-up sport Harry Potter made it so popular.

Let’s delve into the first details about the Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions game and learn more about what’s coming next!

Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions’ Plot and Features

Well, it seems to be a bit early to discuss Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions, but the fact that it’s set in the Harry Potter ‘verse, makes it easy to understand. That way, we can imagine a bit of how the game will unfold right before our eyes. So, even if we don’t have enough details, that doesn’t mean we can’t rely on another HP game, Hogwarts Legacy, to get inspired.

Even if Quidditch was not included in the open-world Harry Potter game Hogwarts Legacy, which was actually set hundreds of years before the events of the book, it is likely that Quidditch Champions to be set within the same time period.

For instance, the lack of information can also be seen on the official website of the game,  which only displays a sign-up form to be a play tester and a lengthy FAQ outlining information about the game. There are also included details about its publisher, Portkey Games, and the extent to which prominent and outspoken transphobe J.K. Rowling is involved.

Although the FAQ doesn’t provide a release date or platform for the game, it does mention that it has been in production for a while.

Here’s a cool fact: the real-world sports league that was inspired by the game changed its name to Quadball to avoid Warner Bros. copyright attorneys as well as to separate the game from its outspokenly transphobic inventor.
