iOS 16: New Weather Features That You Should Totally Try!

iOS 16 will be available starting September 12 to iPhone 8 and newer devices. Expect to see major improvements, including more customized looks and widgets for your lock screen.

The Weather app is the one to get the biggest update, though, which is genuinely incredible! We’ve compiled a list of some of the best Weather features that come with iOS 16. Check them all out below.

1. Widgets For the Lock Screen

Thanks to the brand-new lock screen wallpaper system, you’ll be able to style your iPhone with multiple lock screen designs with some cool widgets, including Weather ones.

There will be 8 Weather widgets available as follows:

  • Conditions
  • Sunrise and Sunset
  • Wind
  • Moon
  • Air Quality (that’s so cool!)
  • Precipitation
  • UV index
  • Conditions

2. Add More Locations

You’ll be able to add up to 50 locations to monitor in the Weather app, which will be a total blast. Just imagine the possibilities that you’ll have!

3. Severe Weather Alerts

From now on, the Weather app can send you notifications about severe weather. The feature will be on by default.

4. Air Quality

The air quality map for a location is already available on your iPhone, but thanks to iOS 16, there’s more about that.

5. Live Wallpapers

Weather comes in style! Starting with iOS 16, you can add a weather wallpaper when the weather conditions change. You can set it up when you choose a new lock screen wallpaper.

There are also new astronomy wallpapers that’ll update automatically with astronomical conditions!

6. Next-hour Precipitation Alerts

The ‘Next-hour Precipitation” alert will come in handy and is on by default on iOS 16! You’ll get notified with super useful rain and snow alerts for the next hour.

7. More Details For All Modules

The Weather app will offer you more details by just tapping on any module so that you can stay up to date about Hourly Forecast, UV Index, Feels Like, Humidity, 10-Day Forecast, Rainfall, Wind, Visibility, Sunrise/ Sunset, and Pressure.
