It’s been more than three years – almost four – since Hunter x Hunter entered its way too long hiatus but the wait is over because it’s finally back!

As fans know already, creator Yoshihiro Togashi and the staff have been working hard to keep the promise made earlier this year, in May, that the beloved manga would get back to print.

And sure enough, that goal was made a reality, much to everyone’s excitement.

Chapter 391 of Hunter x Hunter has been released and it looks like the Dark Continent arc is not hesitating to pop off in the slightest!

This exciting return chapter was published through Shueisha but also outside of Japan at the same time!

For instance, the Shonen Jump app and Manga Plus both made it available as well.

If you are someone who hasn’t managed to keep up with this long running manga throughout its hundreds of chapters but are interested to know more, here are some things that you might want to know before you get into it.

The series began way back in 1998 under Togashi’s leadership.

The well known artist started this long running story right after wrapping up another project – Yu Yu Hakusho – giving birth to one of the best and most well known manga titles, something that many fans of the genre agree wholeheartedly.

Now, literal decades later, Hunter x Hunter boasts almost 400 chapters and has also been adapted into two complete anime shows, the first having launched back in 1999.

In October of 2011, Madhouse also approved another anime adaptation, this second installment being the most well-known up to this point, although the manga itself continues to keep fans coming back for more as well.

Hunter x Hunter’s official synopsis reads: “Abundant riches, fearsome monsters,  hidden treasures, and exotic creatures are all scattered around the world … Gon departs on a new journey to become a Pro Hunter that risks his life in search of the unknown. Along the way, he also meets other applicants for the Hunter exam: Killua, Leorio, and Kurapika. Can Gon pass all the rigorous challenges of the Hunter exam and become the very best Hunter in the world? His epic journey is about to begin!”
