Perhaps we’re all seeing eye to eye when it comes to the idea that smartphones nowadays need as much durability as they can possibly get. We’re carrying those portable computers everywhere with us, and there’s no wonder why. We need to reply to an urgent email or instant message on WhatsApp, check our Facebook notifications, or simply find out how the latest photo of our crush looks. Actually, the last might be more urgent than the others!

There are still plenty of smartphones out there that lack a much-needed feature for any portable device: waterproof. Yes, you’ve read that right! A feature that’s apparently unimportant is actually crucial. Water can be lethal to electronics, but thankfully, tech engineers have found a way to overcome that problem, at least for some devices.

Google Pixel Fold will be waterproof

One of the burning questions about the upcoming Google Pixel Fold is whether the device will be waterproof or not. CNBC sheds light on the mystery, revealing that Google will indeed add protection against water for its Google Pixel Fold smartphone. The same publication also tells us that the foldable smartphone will debut at some point in June.

Who said that only Samsung has the right to create foldable smartphones? Huawei, Motorola, and other companies have also followed suit, while other huge tech giants are awaited to do the same. Yes, Apple, we’re looking at you!

The upcoming Google Pixel Fold will surely cost an arm and a leg, as you’ve probably already guessed. CNBC also reveals that the device will have a price of over $1,700.

The benefits of using a foldable smartphone are undeniable. You can unfold the phone at your will so that it will have a much larger display when needed. You can simply make the device smaller and add it to your pocket so that carrying it won’t be uncomfortable at all.
