The official announcement of Ghostwire: Tokyo’s upcoming arrival on Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S by publisher Bethesda and developer Tango Gameworks has been released!

Ghostwire: Tokyo was a timed-exclusive for PlayStation, which prevented the game from coming to Xbox when it was first released for the PS5 and PC in early 2022.

We already knew that Ghostwire would eventually be available for Xbox as well, but as of right now, we can finally mark a specific date on the calendar for its release.

With that being said, the Xbox Series X/S launch date for Ghostwire: Tokyo is set for April 12.

This time period follows the game’s first release on the PS5 in March of 2022 by a little over a year.

The nicest aspect of Ghostwire: Tokyo’s release is that it will be available on Xbox Game Pass on the same day as it is on Xbox because it is a first-party title from Xbox.

As a result, when Ghostwire: Tokyo launches in the upcoming month, subscribers to Game Pass will be able to download it and check it out immediately!

Next month, Tango Gameworks will push out a significant new update for Ghostwire: Tokyo in addition to the Xbox release. This new patch for the game, dubbed “Spider’s Thread,” will include some brand new areas, combat mechanics, as well as a different game mode. All versions of Ghostwire will receive this update, so those who own it on the PS5 already, will also receive the new features.

“Face some new supernatural threats in Ghostwire: Tokyo Spider’s Thread Update, with new areas, deeper combat, and a challenging brand new game mode. Coming to the PS5, PC, and for the first time Xbox Series X|S and Xbox Game Pass on April 12!” the announcement reads.

The official description for the game states: “Explore a unique vision of Tokyo twisted by a supernatural presence. From its ultra-modern cityscape to its traditional temples and narrow alleyways, discover a hauntingly beautiful city teeming with Yokai – vengeful spirits that prowl the streets. Wield a combination of upgradeable elemental powers and ghost-hunting skills to combat the supernatural threat. Use your ethereal abilities to ascend the top of Tokyo’s skyline and soar over the streets to discover new missions or even get the drop on your enemies.”
