Genshin Impact – Leaks Suggest a Mondstadt Map Expansion Is Coming!

Mondstadt hasn’t had a Genshin Impact update in a very long time.

Thankfully, the game contains some signs that an expansion is on its way.

The regular updates that commonly add new areas of the world for gamers to explore are one of Genshin Impact’s strongest features.

The Teyvat world has more than doubled in size since the game’s release, both by adding regions and by enlarging already existing ones.

Players believe that Mondstadt will be getting a sizable map expansion soon after another addition to an in game map.

The Mondstadt region of Genshin Impact serves as the Traveler’s introduction to Teyvat because it is the first of the game’s zones.

The map has already been expanded with the addition of the Dragonspine due to it being the first zone, which helps keep the area new and exciting.

These new areas are generally added to different regions every couple of patches, but Mondstadt hasn’t had a second expansion ever since Dragonspine’s release.

A small expansion of land has been added off the Teyvat region’s northern border, which many players have noticed is now present on Genshin Impact’s map of the area.

This has caused some to believe that an expansion is on its way, with the claim that Genshin Impact is including this in advance of upcoming patches.

Additionally, according to TeyvatTabloid leaks, a new Mondstadt event is soon to be announced, which would give Genshin Impact’s lore a good reason to revisit the area with fresh content.

Gamers are currently speculating that the new region will include a port city in the north of Cider Lake.

As of now, every other region contains a city that can be categorized as a port city, such as Liyue Harbor in Liyue.

The larger Teyvat oceans, however, are not bordered by any villages in Mondstadt.

Not only would adding a port to Genshin’s Anemo region be a convenient justification for more game content, but it would also make perfect sense as far as world-building and lore are concerned.

In spite of all of this, it is still unclear whether or not the leaks are reliable and so, they remain unconfirmed at this time.

As usual, nothing is officially confirmed until it’s made public during a story patch.

But if these rumors and leaks are accurate, Mondstadt might soon experience a second wave of content from Genshin Impact that is sure to make fans of the game really happy.
