Cities Skylines 2 Will Officially Launch October 24th on PC

Colossal Order

Get ready, urban designers and those who study the mathematics of traffic! The release date for Cities Skylines II has been set on October 24, 2023. It is coming to the PC, as well as the Xbox Series X/S and, of course, PlayStation 5. The sequel’s aesthetics and gameplay have been modernized, as seen in the latest video for the game. Are you excited about it?

Today (June 12), pre-orders for Cities Skylines II are now available to be placed. The new game was announced by Colossal Order in March, and the company intends to demonstrate each of its features in greater depth over the next few months, one feature at a time, one week at a time. Eight years ago, developer Colossal Order released the first installment of Cities Skylines, and since then, the game has sold more than 12 million copies. There is a significant audience for the game on both Twitch and YouTube, and some of the most popular personalities on those platforms have been testing out the beta version of the sequel and offering input to the creators.

What are some of the things that make the Cities Skylines series so enjoyable? Well, the fact that the game is a city-building simulation that can be played by a single person in an open-ended environment is undoubtedly the most astounding aspect of it. Controlling taxation, public services, some aspects of zoning, some aspects of road layout, and of course, public transit gives you the opportunity to engage in urban planning.

You also work to manage many aspects of the city, such as its employment, pollution levels (isn’t this just incredible?!), budget, health, and traffic. This includes working to keep the city healthy. The user has greater leeway to express their individual creativity when playing in the sandbox mode, which allows for the maintenance of cities.

What are your initial impressions of the development being done on the upcoming Cities Skylines II game? Would you be willing to give it a shot?
