When it comes to open-world shooters, you can always count on Far Cry 6. Now, you have another strong reason to play Ubisoft’s 2021 game: it will be free to grab until Monday, August 8. You can choose to run the game for free on either a PC or a console (Xbox, PS4, or PS5).

The big announcement comes from Ubisoft itself, so there’s no room for any misinterpretation. The company’s statement is crystal clear:

From August 4-7, you can access the full game for free, including all three crossover missions and much more!

A whole weekend playing Far Cry 6 should be more than enough to figure out if you really need to buy the game or not. In this game, you’ll be in the shoes of Dani Rojas, who is a local Yaran willing to fight alongside a modern-day guerrilla revolution with the purpose of liberating Yara.

There’s also a free weekend contest available for Far Cry 6 players! The prize is an AMD RX 6800 XT graphics card, which is capable of some impressive hardware power. In order to have a chance of winning it, you’ll simply need to submit your best photo, GIF file, or video of your gameplay.

Ubisoft explains the rules:

POST PICTURE, VIDEO, OR GIF ON TWITTER, INSTAGRAM OR TIKTOK USING #FARCRY6FREEWEEKENDCONTEST IN YOUR SOCIAL MEDIA POST. ALL ENTRIES MUST BE COMPLETED AND SUBMITTED BETWEEN 10 AM EST AUGUST 4, 2022 AND 11:59PM EST AUGUST 12 2022.

Music being used during gameplay is something that we often see and hear in videos, but that’s not necessarily a good thing. Ubisoft also says that if the participant wants to use music in his video, he must make sure that he has all the rights to use that audio file.

In the end, if you want to benefit from Ubisoft’s offer of playing Far Cry 6 for free, you’d better hurry up! There’s no time to waste!
