Oppo is once again back in business with a new phone that could be placed either in the flagship or midrange category. We’re not sure yet. We’re talking about the new Oppo A97, as it has just been unveiled by the Chinese brand, according to GSMArena.

The 12GB of RAM that the new Oppo A97 features are what caught our attention the most. That’s surely a lot for a smartphone, and some might even argue that they can already do great with half of that amount of RAM installed on a mobile device. But if that wasn’t surprising enough, you must keep in mind that Oppo even implemented the possibility to expand that RAM virtually using the internal storage by taking it up to 19GB.

Oppo A97 packs a 5,000mAh battery

We must admit that you don’t hear every day about smartphones that have 5,000 mAh batteries. Oppo a97 is an exception, as it’s sporting such a battery. This means that you should easily be able to use the phone for more than a whole day after a single charge and even if you’re making it go through moderate to heavy usage.

The phone also has more than enough storage for a 2022 device. It features 256GB, which is the same as a lot of laptops that exist on the market today. The display is also big at 6.6 inches, but some might argue that it has been ruined by the presence of the notch. Otherwise, the display is Full HD+, and it reaches a refresh rate of 90Hz.

Oppo A97 also features a 48MP main camera mounted on the rear, while the selfie camera reaches only 12MP. Surely Oppo could have insisted more regarding the two cameras, especially considering the fact that everybody’s a very gifted vlogger and influencer nowadays.

If you’re already willing to get your hands on the Oppo A97 phone, you should keep in mind that it will cost you about $312 if you buy it from China.
