The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remake Has High Chances to Happen Soon

Bethesda

Great news for all The Elder Scrolls fans (watch out for a plot twist, too!). A claimed former employee of Virtuos Games published a message on Reddit, which has since been taken down, in which they said that the Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remake is now in the works. That is rather cool, isn’t it? The leak suggests that the remaster is now being developed with Unreal Engine 5 and Oblivion and that it might be released anywhere between the end of 2024 and the beginning of 2025. There was no information offered on the different operating systems that the game would be playable on, but we should get more details soon.

According to the leak, which was screenshotted and published by Xfire, the company is currently working on a number of different projects. However, a moderator of the r/GamingLeaksAndRumours subreddit indicated that they confirmed proof that the leaker was, in fact, a former employee of Virtuos Games. Despite this, we shouldn’t put too much stock in the rumors that have been posted on the Reddit page because there hasn’t been any independent verification of the information. Let’s assume for the moment that this amount is sufficient.

In the event that The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion receives a remake, what are some of your expectations? What are some things that you would want to see?

After it was disclosed by Xbox’s Phil Spencer that the release of Elder Scrolls 6 is still at least five years away, the announcement of an Elder Scrolls 4 Remake could prove to be a pleasant surprise to those who are lovers of the Elder Scrolls series. It was initially made available to the public in 2006 and, according to the market research organization Electronic Entertainment Design and Research, has already sold an estimated 9.5 million copies all over the world.

In addition to the information on the Oblivion Remake, the leaker revealed more cool details (not confirmed) about other projects being developed by the company. Have a look at them down below:

  • A AAA title is known as Project Massive, which has been characterized as Monster Hunter crossed with Shadow of the Colossus.
  • A brand new DLC for New World
  • Project Altar – The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remake
  • Project Cobra is the remade version of Metal Gear Solid 3
  • Project Ominous – Described as a “narrative climbing game”
