Slow Down Aging By Eliminating These Daily Habits

Aging is a fact of life. But that doesn’t imply you can’t slow things down a little. The first step you can do is avoid unwittingly assisting time by engaging in daily practices that progressively age your physique. Here are some habits that could add years to your life.

Using screens

You may be aging yourself unnecessarily just now. According to researchers, too much contact with blue light, such as that produced by computers or mobile screens, can hasten aging. Blue light can harm cells in the brain and eyes, according to a 2019 paper released in Aging and Mechanisms of Disease. The scientists advise receiving as much natural light as possible to try to minimize this.

Stress

Stress is your body’s response to danger or pressure. It’s natural. When you have to respond to something dangerous, the body secretes hormones and other chemicals that prepare you to react. The stress response also causes muscles to tense up and blood flow to increase, so you can move more quickly.
But stress can also hurt. Chronic stress, the kind you get from living in a dangerous or tense environment, weakens your immune system, making you more vulnerable to disease. It ages you and disrupts your sleep patterns, making you less alert and energetic. It can raise your blood pressure and cholesterol, which can lead to heart disease and strokes, or, if you already have them, make them worse.

Losing sleep

Sleep deprivation is insidious because it comes in small doses. You seem to need less sleep as you get old. But a lack of sleep has a bigger impact on your health as you get older. Sleep is intrinsically valuable. It not only makes us healthier, happier, and more productive, it makes the world a healthier, happier, and more productive place.
