Health monitoring functions existing on portable devices don’t represent anything new, but Samsung will make one extra step forward. The South Korean giant itself has shown at a recent event what its future Sensor OLED displays are capable of, and the monitoring of blood pressure was on the list.

That’s right: Samsung’s future displays will be able to monitor the health of users, such as their sugar level and blood pressure. JS Choi, the CEO of Samsung Display, has revealed the famous company’s work on OLED 2.0, meaning next-generation displays.

Fingerprint scanning will also be an important function of the upcoming displays. If you’re wondering, “what’s so special about that?” well, welcome to the club, for a start! But the new displays will be capable of an advanced way of fingerprint scanning.

Samsung’s new organic photodiode sensor makes fingerprint scanning easier than ever

Samsung has developed a new organic photodiode sensor, which is capable of scanning the fingerprint by using the entire surface of the future display. Therefore, the display will be able to scan numerous fingerprint inputs and even simultaneously.

The next-generation displays from Samsung will allow the implementation of biosensors for keeping track of the blood pressure and glucose levels of users.

Fortunately or not, not only Samsung can create portable devices capable of keeping track of the user’s health. For instance, the new MK66 smartwatch has been seen available at Banggood, the leading global online shop, at an incredible price of only $36. That smartwatch is capable of numerous health monitoring functions, such as keeping track of the user’s blood pressure, heart rate, and level of oxygen from the blood. The wearable device can also remind the user if he has been sedentary in the recent past, while a Sleep Monitor will also ensure that he’s getting enough healthy sleep.
