Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet: There Remain 3 Missing Elite Four Types

PokeScarlet and PokeViolet, Nintendo’s next competitive Pokemon hubs on the hybrid system, are one of the most eagerly awaited releases of the rest of 2022, coming almost three years after Pokemon Sword and Shield. There is virtually little official information concerning Generation 9 games, despite the fact that they were presented on Pokemon Day in February. Two trailers have been published so far, but it is expected that more will appear in the near future.

Since the first announcement of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, there have been several leaks on the internet. While many of them have shown out to be fakes, there is one that seems to be credible: Riddler Khu. The full Hisuian Pokedex was leaked by Khu before Pokemon Legends: Arceus was ever announced, and he has been a reliable source of Pokemon-related knowledge for some time. There were multiple tweets from Khu on the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Elite Four members today, in which he spoke about their specializations. Gen 9’s Elite Four may not be capable of breaking the jinx of certain types that have been lacking from day one if these reports are accurate.

Missing Normal, Grass & Electric

Eight generations of Pokemon games have already been released, with Pokemon Scarlet and Violet representing the start of Generation 9, and the majority of the games included Elite Four members that players may face before fighting the Champion in most cases. Apart from Pokemon Sword and Shield, which reintroduced Gym Leaders and competitors back into the battle for a bracket tournament, this has been a hallmark of all mainstream Pokemon games.

This would suggest that the Elite Four members of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet would all focus on Pokemon types that have previously been offered to Elite Four members in previous games, according to Riddler Khu. No member of the Elite Four has ever specialised in one of the three absent types: Normal, Grass, and Electric, in any of the mainstream Pokemon games to date.

Since the Elite Four will not include any Pokemon of the Normal, Grass, or Electric types, this doesn’t rule out the possibility of these Pokemon returning as Gym Leaders. Pokemon Scarlet and Violet may not break this 26-year-old tendency, thus Generation 10 will probably have to address at least one or two of these kinds as Elite Four members in order to make up – although those titles are likely four years away at this point. This is a crucial aspect of the Pokemon journey, and it would be good if Pokemon Scarlet and Violet had more diverse trainers.
