2021 is almost over, and the new year will mark the return of Dragon Ball Super to the big screens. Although we’ll still have some time to wait for the anime, there will be a brand new movie under the “Dragon Ball Super” designation.

Luckily for all Dragon Ball fans out there, a new trailer is available to watch, and we must say that we’re pretty excited. Compared to other Dragon Ball titles from the latest years, the new movie that comes out in 2022 won’t exactly bring back old villains as it happened with Frieza or Broly. Instead, the Red Ribbon Army has been somehow revived from the ashes and ready to give Goku & co a hard time once again by creating new androids.

Behold the trailer, as published by the “Kame” channel, and make sure you’ve activated the English subtitles if you don’t speak Japanese:

As expected from the hints we have until now about “Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero” and judging by the formula that Dragon Ball Super has generally applied, Gohan seems once again as he’ll play a major role. The anime has been pretty faithful to the fans’ demands by getting Master Roshi to the battle arena again, making a total failure out of Yamcha, or even making Gohan great again in the Tournament of Power. Therefore, Gohan will continue to walk on that path, but we’ll be covering later in the article the biggest reason why he’ll be very important in the movie.

What exactly are the androids?

The androids are mechanical and powerful monsters created by the Red Ribbon Army to rule and spread fear to the world. Dr. Gero was especially responsible for creating the androids, meaning the leading scientist of the organization. As expected, Goku rapidly became a major target for the androids, who wanted to stop their evil schemes. The beloved Saiyan even defeated the entire Red Ribbon Army when he was a child. Those are the roots for the Cell Saga in Dragon Ball Z when the android known as Cell and the second strongest villain in the series terrorized the Earth and the Z warriors. It was enough for the evil scientist Dr. Gero to survive to put other evil plans into action and develop stronger androids.

As for Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, it will be exciting to see how Goku and the gang will deal with the new androids created by the Red Ribbon Army.

The major reason why Gohan will indeed shine in Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero

SPOILER ALERT! If you don’t want to be spoiled, go back now or remain silent forever!

Now seriously, let’s once again dive into a little Dragon Ball history. If we look back in the old days of Dragon Ball Z during the Cell Saga that we’ve mentioned earlier, we can remind ourselves who was the hero of the arc there. That’s right, it was none other than Gohan who defeated Cell. However, we must give credit to his father Goku for sacrificing himself to save the entire Earth from Cell as the monster was preparing to destroy the planet in a kamikaze attack. But Gohan made the decisive blow to end Cell and his evil terror.

Now that the Red Ribbon Army is back in business with new ways to give the Z warriors a hard time, guess who should ruin their plans once again? That’s right, it’s Gohan. The son of Goku once again has the chance to prove that he can truly shine. He did it before, and he certainly has the potential to do it again. We can see very explicit footage in the trailer of how he’s putting away his glasses and getting ready for a new fight. And no, this time it’s not a fight with mathematics or some other science.
