Nike Suspends the Relationship With Kyrie Irving, Canceling the Next Shoe Release

Nike suspended its relationship with Kyrie Irving on November 4. Also, the Nets had already broken the star for at least five games until he would take remedial measures, calling him “unfit to be associated” with the team.

Why did this happen to the Brooklyn Nets star?

Kyrie Irving promoted an anti-Semitic documentary, and he tried to apologize on social media, but it had no effect on his career.

Read down below for more information about Kyrie’s deed.

Where It All Started?

Kyrie posted a link on Twitter to a film with hateful assertions about Jewish people, and he initially declined to apologize. After the Net’s decision to suspend the star, he relented and posted on Instagram.

To All Jewish families and Communities that are hurt and affected from my post, I am deeply sorry to have caused you pain, and I apologize.

The NBA’s players released statements condemning antisemitism without naming Irving in the past week. Also, the Nets owner Joe Tsai posted on Twitter that he is disappointed by Kyrie. On Wednesday, Irving and the Nets declared in a statement with the Anti-Defamation League that they would donate $500,000 to unspecified causes and organizations that combat hate in their communities.

Kyrie Irving is a professional basketball player for the Brooklyn Nets, and he won an NBA championship with the Cavaliers in 2016. His sports career could be affected after this suspension, the Nets will also not pay him, and he does not have a relationship with Nike anymore, so Kyrie 8 will no longer get launched.

That is what Nike said in a statement:

At Nike, we believe there is no place for hate speech and we condemn any form of antisemitism.

This incident is an obstacle for Kyrie’s career, so keep an eye out because more information will come!
