Mortal Kombat 1: What Characters are Confirmed So Far

NetherRealm Studios, Warner Bros.

The 2023 summer will be an awesome period for Mortal Kombat fans! That’s because their favorite fighting game series will be back in business starting in August! Therefore, those who are willing to play the upcoming Mortal Kombat 1 will have to bring out their PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X console.

Thanks to Chit-Hot, we now know which characters have been confirmed so far to arrive in Mortal Kombat 1. While pre-orders for the game are about to go live, there are already details available about the confirmed characters. Liu Kang, Sub Zero, and Scorpion make their return with new appearances in Mortal Kombat 1. Other familiar characters such as Kung Lao, Raiden, and Kitana are also featured in the debut trailer. Liu Kang has ascended to godhood, Raiden made his comeback to the good side, Kung Lao is a friend and champion of Earthrealm, while Kitana has a troubled past as the adopted daughter of Shao Khan.

Mileena, a ruthless assassin and Kitana’s jealous “sister,” also joins the roster. Scorpion and Sub Zero, both fan favorites, have undergone some changes in their appearances, hinting at potential character development. Additionally, Shang Tsung, in his more youthful form, has been confirmed as a playable character through a pre-order bonus. Many more characters are yet to be confirmed, including possible cameos from other franchises. With a wide array of choices, fans can look forward to discovering the full list of Mortal Kombat 1 characters.

We hate to disappoint some of you, but the release of Mortal Kombat 1 won’t happen exactly by the book, meaning that no PC version will be available. Perhaps the devs will find a way to port the game for PC as well in the near future. However, running the game on a powerful Pc might turn out to be a two-edged sword, as nobody knows for sure how the title would behave on such a platform.
