Microsoft finally decided to retire its ‘ancient’ Internet Explorer browser almost two weeks ago. The company is strongly advising anyone to use the Microsoft Edge browser instead, and there’s no wonder why. It’s currently one of the most reliable browsers out there.

But Microsoft doesn’t want to stop there. The Redmond-based tech giant granted a new update for its browser, hoping to make it the best web navigator for gamers. There are some new gaming features onboard, and they’ll indeed make you excited if you’re a gamer.

Eyes set on the new “Gaming” tab

The new update for Microsoft Edge includes the addition of a new “Gaming” tab in the navigation bar, which means faster access to news and content related to gaming. That’s also the area where things become even more diversified and fun if you sign up using your Xbox account.

Microsoft says on its blog:

With the new gaming homepage in Microsoft Edge, you can get right to gaming as soon as you launch your browser. It is personalized to your interests and designed to keep you connected to the content you care about like news, game guides, live streams, game highlights, tournaments, and upcoming and newly released games.

The same source continues by stating:

And if you sign in with your Xbox account, you will get Xbox content such as games you might like and easy access to the Xbox Cloud Gaming library — including recently played games and related content.

How about playing games directly in the browser? Does that excite you? If your answer is “yes,” Microsoft has it covered for you once again! The same blog post informs that an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate membership is all you need if you’re willing to run games directly in the browser via Xbox Cloud Gaming.
