Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has yet to get an official release date from PlayStation or the game’s creator, Insomniac Games. I mean, we deserved more than some time in 2023, right?! The game is actually anticipated to arrive really soon, but we can’t just get excited for nothing. However, thanks to a recent report, we know that Spider-Man 2 will air in September 2024. But how much can we raise our expectations? Apparently, the source is kind of trustworthy considering it comes from reporter Jason Schreier. Check out what Schreier posted on Twitter:

As an assurance: in addition to serving as a correspondent for Bloomberg, Schreier is undoubtedly the most well-known and dependable source in the field. He has also consistently produced trustworthy reports for years. Okay, so we settled that; what to expect from Marvel’s Spider-Man 2?
You can take this information seriously for another reason. It is accompanied by a number of rumors, reports, and leaks that all point to a September release. The most significant of them came directly from Tony Todd, who said that the game would be released in September. Todd plays the role of Venom in the game. However, if that turns out to be accurate, there’s actually a thing that won’t go unnoticed: the first Spider-Man in the series actually came out in September 2018! How cool is that?!
That release date was incredibly successful for PlayStation and Insomniac Games in the original game, so adopting it again isn’t all that strange, right?!
Finally, given the duration of traditional video game marketing efforts, you’d assume that by now, if the game were due to arrive in September, it would have been announced. That’s somehow reasonable. But there’s a catch! While this makes sense, it misses the reality that PlayStation has been gradually cutting the length of the marketing campaigns for many of its most popular titles since the PS4 generation, and much more so since the PS5 generation’s launch.
