It’s the End of the Road for YouTube Vanced

Let’s face it: nobody likes ads on YouTube, except for those who benefit directly from them financially. The notorious streaming service offers a way to bypass those pesky ads while you’re watching your favorite shows and videos. But obviously, not everybody is willing to pay for the Premium subscription.

YouTube Premium is still pretty affordable for those $11.99 demanded per month. But we won’t start a debate if any of you disagree with the claim. That’s where YouTube Vanced came into the scene, meaning a modded version of the streaming service that lets users watch their favorite videos for free without having to wait for ads to disappear. But you know what they say that nothing lasts forever, and whether we like it or not, it also applies to YouTube Vanced.

YouTube Vanced is shutting down in a few days

The developers behind YouTube Vanced announced that the service had been discontinued. As expected, the download links will be taken down, and it will happen in a matter of days. Those preferring to enjoy content via YouTube Vanced will have to find other ways of seeing YouTube videos. If they don’t like the standard version of the official version with ads, they’ll have no other choice but to pay.

Displaying ads represent one of the ways Creators from YouTube earn their money for the content they publish. Therefore, ads are a “necessary evil” for beholders, and it’s just another example of how society works. Many systems are connected to one another financially.

YouTube is a very old service, as it was launched 17 years ago, in 2005. On the other hand, the YouTube Premium service was launched back in 2014. Except for being ad-free, YouTube Premium also offers the option to continue playing the content in the background, as well as having access to original movies and TV shows related to YouTube.
