Huawei is once again ready for some new and powerful tech gimmicks, as the Mate 50 series is just around the corner along with a new powerful chipset. The series will consist of the Mate 50, the Mate 50 Pro, as well as the Mate 50 RS, and it will be equipped with the new Kirin 9000S processor.

GSMArena brings details regarding the upcoming Huawei Mate 50 series, along with the release time. Huawei will launch the new smartphone lineup at some point in September, so there’s not much to wait. Surprisingly enough, the new chipset won’t have 5G capabilities. That seems intolerable in 2022, but we’ll see how the public will react.

We can now get a closer look at the Mate 50 Pro model, thanks to YouTuber ‘KidAndroid RH’:

As you can easily see, the camera bump is huge, which means that some users could easily have a problem with that. Of course, we’re ruling out the possibility that the phone’s functionality would be somehow affected. You may not like the implementation only if you’re especially concerned about the aesthetics.

We’re happy to see that there’s no notch implemented in the front in order to make room for the selfie camera. We all have to admit that it would have been an obsolete approach for Huawei. We can also see a design that lacks rounded corners, and we’re not sure if that’s a good move or not.

Last month, we spoke about another upcoming phone from Huawei: the Nova 10 Pro model. That phone stands out for being able to get its battery fully charged in only 20 minutes. The gadget came out on July 10.

Judging by the info we have, you’ll need to pay a fair amount of money in order to get your hands on the Huawei Mate 50 series of phones: around $1,099/€939.
