Hogwarts Legacy – All about the 4 House Exclusive Quests in the Game!

screenrant.com

As Harry Potter fans are already aware, there are four houses at Hogwarts into which students are sorted, and in Hogwarts Legacy, players will have certain special quests that are particular to each house.

Although they will all ultimately return the player to the same place in the main storyline, these missions may end up being a significant factor for players when choosing which house to join.

The player is taken on a journey across the castle and its environs through a variety of house quests, each of which has a distinctive look and feel.

Although the stories of these missions vary widely, they all introduce the player to Richard Jackdaw’s ghost.

More than a century before the game’s time Richard Jackdaw attended Hogwarts.

It is revealed that he was a thief as well as a heartbreaker, and had an adventurous spirit, although separately through each of the house specific quests.

He died via decapitation, which is why he is now a ghost, haunting the Hogwarts grounds.

The player character learns more and more about him in different ways but especially through the four main quests, specific to each house.

‘The Hunt for the Missing Pages’ – Griffindor

As part of the mission, the player assists Nearly Headless Nick in locating some rotten meat in an effort to impress the other Headless Hunt members and hopefully persuade them to let him join.

By accomplishing this, the player visits the kitchens in Hogwarts Legacy and participates in a Headless Hunt game in the pumpkin patches next to Hogsmeade Cemetery.

The player encounters Richard Jackdaw’s ghost as the adventure comes to a close.

‘Scrope’s Last Hope’ – Slytherin

After a brief search for notes left by Headmaster Black’s house elf, Scrope, those sorted into Slytherin may begin their exclusive quest.

After a while, Scrope himself shows up and tells that he needs to have a ring taken out of Appolonia Black’s grotto.

The player encounters Richard Jackdaw there, who confesses to selling the ring but has some crucial missing documents with his dead body.

Even if Scrope remains unable to obtain the ring, the quest is still a lot of fun.

‘Ollivander’s Heirloom’ – Ravenclaw

A Ravenclaw player is requested to assist famed wandmaker Ollivander in the search for a particular heirloom wand that Richard Jackdaw had stolen a long time ago.

This quest takes the player to the Owlery, where they finally meet Richard Jackdaw’s ghost.

He pledges to help the player find the wand as well as the missing pages from the shredded book that all house missions require in order to advance the main quest once more.

‘Prisoner of Love’ – Hufflepuff

The player character from this house is asked for help in solving an old murder case by a painting of a former Minister of Magic.

A young lady named Anne was accused of murdering Richard Jackdaw after he vanished and was subsequently discovered to be a ghost.

With that being said, this is arguably the best of the exclusive house quests, especially since it brings them to Azkaban to see Anne and then to the puzzles Richard initially created for Anne in an effort to win her over.

All of these quests reveal a separate part of Richard Jackdaw’s backstory.

These Jackdaw storylines are creative ways to include him in the narrative but also entice players to replay the game as different houses to uncover more about him.

The only quests that are actually distinct from one another in Hogwarts Legacy are the ones mentioned above.

There are a few other places in the game where dialogue and other small aspects may alter depending on which house you play as, however, although none of them are as impactful as the exclusive house quests.
