While a lot of fans are already making bets about what the Dragon Ball Super anime will look like when it comes back next year, they’ll even get another new show of the famous franchise. Another Dragon Ball-related anime is set to arrive and be available exclusively on the web in 2023.

Twitter user @DBSChronicles (Chronicles) revealed the big news, and we should surely take it for granted. We’re talking about a trusted source when it comes to Dragon Ball news. The source also confirms the arrival of a TV anime related to Dragon Ball.

Not a continuation of Dragon Ball Super

The web anime will likely not be a continuation of the Dragon Ball Super anime, as the leaker reveals. If it’s true, it means that the upcoming show will place the story at some point in either one of Dragon Ball’s numerous plot holes. Dragon Ball Super has done the same, placing its story after the Majin Buu Saga of Dragon Ball Z and until the final episodes of the show, meaning in the ten years plot hole. Therefore, the scheme would definitely not be something new for the Dragon Ball universe.

The episodes are expected to be under 23 minutes each. Is it good? Is it bad? We’ll surely find out new details soon enough.

A Dragon Ball-related anime running entirely on the web is also not something new. The Super Dragon Ball Heroes anime follows the same recipe – it was released in 2018, and it has 44 episodes so far. The show follows the adventures of Goku, Vegeta, and the gang as they deal a lot with parallel timelines/universes. Such a plot allows for many situations to become a reality, although nobody would have thought it possible: Future Gohan meets Gohan., Super Saiyan Blue Goku meets Super Saiyan 4 Goku, and a lot more.
