Who said that the demonic horror of the legendary DOOM series will ever end? The guys from id Software are preparing the arrival of “DOOM: The Dark Ages”, a modern first-person shooter that allows you to “become the slayer in a medieval war against hell”.

The graphics of a DOOM game had never looked better than they do in The Dark Ages, and the system requirements confirm it. You’ll need a minimum of 16 gigs of RAM and a graphics card such as NVIDIA or AMD hardware Raytracing-capable GPU with 8GB dedicated VRAM or something better.

Limited-edition Xbox controller and a console wrap are available NOW

Xbox Wire confirms that the Xbox Wireless Controller – DOOM: The Dark Ages Limited Edition, Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 – DOOM: The Dark Ages Limited Edition, as well as the Xbox Series X Wrap – DOOM: The Dark Ages Limited Edition, are now available for grabs.

There’s even greater news up ahead: in the case of the Xbox Wireless Controller – DOOM: The Dark Ages Limited Edition, there’s also the DOOM Slayer Executioner Skin DLC up for grabs in the case of the DOOM: The Dark Ages game, sold in a separate way.

Here’s what the forthcoming game’s description says, as quoted via the official Steam page:

DOOM: The Dark Ages is the prequel to the critically acclaimed DOOM (2016) and DOOM Eternal that tells an epic cinematic story of the DOOM Slayer’s rage. Players will step into the blood-stained boots of the DOOM Slayer, in this never-before-seen dark and sinister medieval war against Hell.

DOOM: The Dark Ages comes out next month on May 15. Those willing to pre-purchase the game can do so via Steam for 79.99 euros.
