The production company behind scary films like Get Out and Paranormal Activity, Blumhouse Productions, is apparently making its game industry debut soon!

Blumhouse Productions has achieved great success and established a sizable presence in Hollywood.

It’s extremely simple for the studio to at least break even, if not have outrageous profit margins, as a result of its investments in low-budget horror movies.

This has given several well known creators, including Jordan Peele, a chance to launch their careers as filmmakers and thoroughly demonstrate their talents.

Since its start, the studio has grown significantly and is now ready to conquer another industry.

The studio is now moving forward with a gaming studio.

The development of Blumhouse’s Five Nights at Freddy’s movie has begun, and the company has announced that its own gaming branch will be established.

The Blumhouse Games studio will function similarly to its film studio by concentrating on low-budget horror games for consoles, PC and even mobile devices.

Although no games have been shown as of yet, the business has named Don Sechler CFO and Zach Wood President.

Blumhouse President Abhijay Prakash told publication Bloody Disgusting that “For some time we’ve been looking to build a team to start accessing the opportunity to grow in interactive media. When we sat with Zach and Don they formulated an approach that resonated with Blumhouse’s model and we knew that it was a perfect place for us to begin our push into the interactive space. With their experience but also sensibility and knowledge of the gaming industry, Zach and Don are the ideal leaders to leverage Blumhouse’s unique genre strengths into gaming.”

While Sechler recently had a significant business position at PlayStation and participated in the creation of high-profile AAA games as well as independent ones, Wood is a seasoned industry professional who has been involved in the creation of games like Prey and the upcoming Redfall.

Though it is still unknown what will happen to Blumhouse Games, at least we know for sure that the branch has two capable leaders.
