Battlefield 4: Massive Surge of Players Are Causing EA to Expand Server Capacity

It’s time for those who enjoy a super exciting dose of warfare realism to hop back into the Battlefield 4 first-person shooter that made so many gamers happy since its release in 2013! The game is currently flooded with players who are doing their best to compete against each other, and where there’s competition, you have a nice portion of fun!

Kotaku.com writes about the massive surge of Battlefield 4 players joining the game, and the number of enthusiasts willing for a challenge became literally unbearable. Therefore, EA has decided to increase the server capacity in order to deal with the surge of gamers.

Battlefield 2042 was revealed at E3 2021, but made gamers nostalgic for an older game of the series

EA’s support website doesn’t hesitate to admit that after the upcoming Battlefield game was revealed during E3 2021, a huge amount of players joined the much older Battlefield 4. However, we must not be surprised, as Battlefield 4 received the Satellite Award for Outstanding Platform Action/Adventure Game.

EA’s full message through its support site is pretty straightforward:

We were absolutely blown away by your excitement and reactions to the recent Battlefield 2042 reveal.

Since then, many of you have jumped back into Battlefield 4 to already get a taste of the return to all-out-warfare. We’ve been monitoring your experience and noticed queue times in the US West region were far longer than in other regions. Good news, we’ve increased server capacity for this region — you can expect less waiting, and more playing.

We’ll continue monitoring queue times and will make further adjustments as necessary.

Battlefield 4 is playable on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Windows PC. The game was developed by EA DICE and published by EA, and it’s a sequel to the Battlefield 3 game from 2011. The story of Battlefield 4 takes place into the fictional “War of 2020”.
