Adobe found its way, embracing AI just like everybody else. But can you blame it?! Imagine doing your editing work and getting inspired right away by some AI tools specially designed for making everything looks better. Quite curious yet impressive, and Adobe knows what its users deserve. Adobe said on April 17 that it is already working on a number of updates to better empower its customers via Creative Cloud video and audio applications, less than a month after launching its new suite of Firefly generative AI editing tools. So, the updates should arrive in Firefly’s beta program later this year.

What are your thoughts about Adobe’s new Firefly AI tools?

But first, what is Firefly actually, and how does it work? Firefly is an intriguing collection of generative AI models developed by the firm from its long-running AI program, Sensei. The way it works is just fabulous, and somehow, it’s similar to Dall-E and ChatGPT because it can generate and manipulate video, audio, 3D models, and graphics right from text input. That’s at least alone, brilliant if not heavenly perfect!

Although the new features won’t be accessible until later this year via the limited beta program, Firefly’s capabilities are currently present via Adobe’s ecosystem, which includes Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Illustrator, and After Effects.

So, how will the AI tools really shine upon the creators’ work?

By simply inserting placeholder images, boosting some color levels, adding sleek effects, and autonomously recommending a b-roll for a given project, the new features are intended to help professional editors just save more time doing what they love to do. Users will be able to easily access all those features by typing their ideas and thoughts into Firefly’s AI text prompt.

Then, the algorithm will start taking care of the rest. The best part is that it will also include some fantastic “text to color enhancements,” a feature with a wide range of applications that may perfectly change the time of day, the brightness and saturation levels using natural language cues, and even the season. Can you imagine something like that? What our mind thinks of, AI applies!
