Let’s face it: most smartphones don’t satisfy our needs when it comes to battery life. Or maybe we’re too addicted to these little magical devices. Either way, most of us would like to benefit from more battery life. Carrying a charger around and looking for a socket almost every time we leave the house isn’t too pleasant.

iPhones are extremely handy devices, but not many people know that you can easily expand their battery life through a simple trick. Thanks to PhoneArena.com, the publication that reveals the work of a TikTok user known as “kadama”, we have the right formula.

Prevent apps from running in the background

You don’t have to be a genius to realize that apps running in the background of a device are significantly chowing down on its battery life and resources. Therefore, why keep those apps active if you don’t need them? Just go ahead and silence them!

For doing so, head over to the Settings menu of your iPhone. Then, switch to “General”. The “Background App Refresh” is the next place where you’ll have to play. Once you’re there, simply turn the feature off.

Did we miss you? Come on, it’s easy as a walk in the park! Just a few more steps, and you’re done. The next thing you’ll have to do is go to the Settings menu again, select “Battery”, tap on “Battery Health”, and choose “Toggle on Optimized Battery Charging”. That’s all. Your battery will now last much longer. Congratulations!

You might have guessed for yourself that turning off the “Background App Refresh” will stop apps from automatically updating in the background. This could be a little disadvantage, as you won’t see the latest update right away as you open an app. But hey, you know what they say: you just can’t have them all in life!

Feel free to tell us if you know other methods for saving battery life on an iPhone!
