Those of you who use Google Chrome on either Windows or Android must update immediately. For each operating system, there is a fresh browser update that fixes any newly found security flaws. Your browser and your personal information are in danger unless you immediately upgrade to a newer version of the software.

Those changes have been verified by Google on the Chrome Release Windows and Android blogs. Version 103.0.5060.114 is required for Windows users, whereas version 103.0.5060.71 is required for Android users. Four security flaws in Chrome for Windows and three flaws in Chrome for Android have been patched, according to Google.

[$TBD][1341043] High CVE-2022-2294: Heap buffer overflow in WebRTC. Reported by Jan Vojtesek from the Avast Threat Intelligence team on 2022-07-01

[$3000][1327087] High CVE-2022-2296: Use after free in Chrome OS Shell. Reported by Khalil Zhani on 2022-05-19

Google acknowledged in its update log that a known attack for CVE-2022-2294 exists in the wild, making the first of these three most alarming. When a hole in a system’s security can be exploited, it indicates that at least one person is aware of how to take full advantage of the flaw, even if they haven’t previously done so. That’s risky since millions of Chrome users on Windows and Android are vulnerable until the problem is fixed and their devices updated.

Other exploits for vulnerabilities that Google isn’t aware of are likely to be revealed in the near future. When you delay updating, you open yourself vulnerable to greater threats. For some reason, Mac and iOS users seem to be unaffected by these security problems. Because of this, you won’t get a new Chrome update on these systems until the end of this year.

How to update Google Chrome?

Install the latest version of Chrome immediately. Chrome’s Help menu may be found by clicking the three dots in the top-right corner of the web browser and selecting Help > About Google Chrome. Allow Google Chrome to check for an update. If a new version of your browser is available, click “Relaunch” to get it.

To upgrade the Android version of the app, go to the Google PlayStore. Select “Update” from the Google Chrome app’s menu. In certain cases, if you’ve allowed automatic updates, the program may automatically update itself: If all you see is “Open,” you’re good to go.
