Do you also know that feeling when you don’t want a specific person from your list of contacts to know about the last time you’ve been online? Perhaps we’ve all been in that situation.

That’s why the developers of WhatsApp now want to solve the day for us! According to The Economic Times, the company formerly known as Facebook (the current Meta) is working to bring the long-awaited possibility for those willing to hide their “Last seen” status from specific contacts.

The feature is live for those who are part of the beta programme

Those who have the beta version of WhatsApp will be the first ones to enjoy the feature. The functionality will then be eventually rolled out for the rest of the users.

There will be four options to choose from when it comes to the “Last Seen” feature on WhatsApp.  Therefore, we’ll get to select either “My Contacts”, “My Contacts except”, and “Nobody”.

WhatsApp is also preparing to grant more privileges for group admins by implementing the “Communities” feature at some point in the future. Therefore, the group admins will be able to create groups within other groups and invite people with more ease than before. A Community Invite link will be enough to invite someone new to the “party”.

Meta seems to be constantly eager to update its WhatsApp instant messaging service. The Google Play Store description contains the essence of what WhatsApp can do:

WhatsApp from Facebook is a FREE messaging and video calling app. It’s used by over 2B people in more than 180 countries. It’s simple, reliable, and private, so you can easily keep in touch with your friends and family. WhatsApp works across mobile and desktop even on slow connections, with no subscription fees*.

In the current world, when blocking someone has become the supreme argument, the new feature of hiding the “Last Seen” status for specific contacts will surely represent a good addition.
