Goku becoming a Super Saiyan is one of the most iconic moments in anime history. The transformation impacted the legendary Dragon Ball series forever, bringing an entirely new perspective about the franchise.
Goku first became a Super Saiyan during his battle against Frieza, the evil intergalactic tyrant who tried to exterminate the Saiyan race long ago. After Goku became a Super Saiyan in Dragon Ball, who else would have been extremely eager to do the same other than Vegeta? The Saiyan Prince was severely hurt in his pride to see a “low-class warrior” like the one he calls “Kakarot” achieving the legendary transformation. Vegeta was the next in line who became a Super Saiyan, and although he struggled for long, it was worth the wait! Vegeta first tapped into the Super Saiyan transformation in front of Android 19, and some thought at that point that the Saiyan Prince was even stronger than Goku. Later on in the Dragon Ball Z anime, Gohan and Trunks also became Super Saiyans.
