The Mother – Cast, Plot, Release Date

Jennifer Lopez is adding yet another promising film role to her successful career.

Variety has recently reported that the star will appear in Netflix’s thriller called “The Mother,” in which she takes up the role of a deadly assassin.

The film’s director will be Niki Caro, who has recently guided the live-action remake of Disney’s “Mulan.”

If you fancy the idea of seeing Lopez as a killer assassin, you may find “The Mother” as a very captivating title.

Release Date

There is no official release date for “The Mother.”

However, many rumors suggest that “The Mother” would begin filming on October 4, 2021, in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

From that point, production should take up roughly four months, which means that it would wrap up in January 2022.

Therefore, we can expect to see the premiere of “The Mother” in late 2022 at best.

Fans of J. Lo. have a lot to look forward to, as she has other films lined up – “Atlas,” “The Godmother,” “Shotgun Wedding,” “Marry Me.”

Cast

The concept of seeing Lopez as a highly-skilled assassin is intriguing, so it’s normal to be wondering who she’ll be playing the role along with.

Well, some reports suggest that actors Joseph Fiennes, Omari Hardwick, and Gael Garcia Bernal have joined Lopez in the upcoming thriller.

Fiennes is popular for his roles in “American Horror Story,” “Camelot,” and for playing William Shakespeare in the 1998’s “Shakespeare in Love.”

Plot

Variety reports that the series will focus on a “deadly assassin,” portrayed by Lopez, who has given up her daughter years ago.

The assassin leaves her hideout to protect her daughter “while on the run from dangerous men.”
