Tesla’s Rival Company BYD Might Launch their Electric Pickup at the Same Time as the Cybertruck!

Tesla has confirmed their decision to postpone the release of Cybertruck for next year, possibly during the summer of 2023, to be more precise.

With that being said, it appears that their biggest competitor, BYD, is getting ready to launch their own electric pickup truck around the same time as well!

In fact, the BYD’s pickup has already been seen in camouflage mode, getting tested around town, which means that it’s quite far along in the development process already.

In case you haven’t heard of BYD, it is actually the world’s second largest electric car producer so the speculation that they may be dropping their pickup truck at the same time as Tesla will release theirs, is quite controversial.

In addition to possibly releasing an electric pickup truck of their own right when Tesla will finally bring the long-awaited Cybertruck to the public, it might also be part of a line of vehicles that can be personalized as much as the customer wishes.

This also involves establishing a brand new, special dealership relation with the buyers in order to facilitate this feature.

It has to be noted that BYD has announced that they will give up on cars with solely internal combustion engines.

Instead, they are planning on producing hybrids and electric automobiles exclusively in the future, while also transitioning to an EV only strategy.

Just a few days ago, BYD celebrated the shipment of no less than 3 million “new energy” vehicles.

At the same time, Chairman Wang Chuanfu took this opportunity to tease the upcoming brand that will focus on the buyer’s unique preferences, offering them customizable solutions, tailor-made for them!

Keep in mind that this is, in fact, a different branch from the Yangwang brand.

The latter is for luxury performance vehicles and is also set to be launched next year, most likely sometime in the first quarter of the year, however.

Since the high-end market might be over-saturated by American companies such as Ford, Chevy, Rivian and of course, Tesla, it’s likely that BYD’s first equivalent will only be successful on the local market.

Such vehicles have indeed been gathering a lot of interest in China lately but the real demand for such a car remains to be determined after the price and all the specs become public knowledge sometime next year.
