Elon Musk is getting into the smartphone business as well, after spending so much time with electric cars and space engineering! The Tesla Phone Pi is in the works, the smartphone that we had been talking about in a previous article that was posted in late September.

Tesla will launch its Phone Pi next year in April, but even so, a bulky amount of information regarding the upcoming phone is already available online, even though they’re mostly rumors. Tesla Phone Pi will stand out for possible features such as a satellite-generated network, mining crypto with its GPU, and more. The age-old ‘no signal’ problem will disappear for good, even if the user is placed in the forest, for instance.

Therefore, even if there’s still a lot to learn about what the upcoming Tesla Phone Pi will be capable of, we can already compare the gadget with the iPhone 14 Pro Max from Apple, judging by the information we have so far. Even though, again, that information mostly consists of rumors, let’s cut to the chase!

Tesla Phone Pi’s rear camera setup is better

While Apple’s iPhone 14 Pro Max that came out this year is equipped with a Super Retina LTPO OLED display, the Tesla Phone Pi is expected to have only an OLED display. Both phones have the same sizes and refresh rates for their screens: 6.7 inches and 120Hz, respectively.

For the rear camera criterion, Tesla Phone Pi wins this round due to its expected 108MP wide camera, the 50MP telephoto camera, the 50MP ultrawide camera, and the 5MP macro camera. On the other hand, iPhone 14 Pro Max has a 48MP wide camera, a 12MP telephoto camera, a 12MP ultrawide camera, and the TOF 3D function.

When it comes to performance and particularly the chipset, we could consider that the two gadgets are pretty much the same. Tesla’s phone is expected to be featuring a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen1 processor of 4nm, while the iPhone 14 Pro Max is carrying the A16 Bionic chipset from Apple.

If you care too much about RAM memory, you must know that Tesla Phone Pi wins this round as well. The upcoming gadget will be sporting 8 to 12GB of RAM, while iPhone 14 Pro Max runs on 6GB.

In the end, it’s pretty hard to say which one of the two phones is better based on the rumored specs of Tesla’s phone, but what we know for sure is that iPhone 14 will have some serious competition.
