Terraria 1.4.5: Re-Logic Announces Major Update For 2023

The latest information from developer Re-Logic suggests that another substantial content update for Terraria will be released in 2023. The 1.4.4 update for the game, which was supposed to be the final chapter in the legendary indie blockbuster’s history, instead became notorious for being followed by a slew of “final” feature updates. However, Terraria veterans will know that Re-Logic is eager to bring more content to the game on a regular basis.

One of Terraria’s many impressive features is the frequency with which it teams up with other modern indie staples. For instance, in patch 1.4.4, a lot of Stardew Valley content was introduced, giving players of both games a chance to interact with one another in a pleasant way. So, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that Terraria’s own characters, weaponry, and other various stuff would make their way into other indie projects, which is likely what prompted this latest news in the first place.

In 2021, the Terraria team discussed removing content on Reddit and mentioned that version 1.4 would likely be the last patch. However, the developers have repeatedly returned to work on Terraria despite stating the same thing about a series of previous new upgrades. Something similar occurred with update 1.4.4, and with 1.4.5 scheduled for 2023, it’s evident that development is proceeding steadily.

New playable characters

The most recent content release in Dead Cells is certainly not the only noteworthy occurrence of 2022 so far. The Guide of Terraria is one of the new playable characters. In light of the recent crossover between the two games, Re-Logic has made an announcement of its own: Terraria 1.4.5 will be released in 2023, with at least some of the material being lifted straight from Dead Cells. In addition, Re-Logic has suggested, though not verified, that cross-play compatibility for the game will arrive in 2023.

Since the Guide NPC in Terraria is featured in the new highlight trailer for Dead Cells’ update, it’s reasonable to assume that a large portion of Dead Cells’ own content will be incorporated into Terraria 1.4.5 when it is released. If Re-past Logic’s work is any indication, players could be in for a substantial update like this year’s Labor of Love for Terraria.
