Red Dead Redemption 2 Could Be Arriving for Nintendo Switch

Rockstar’s Red Dead Redemption 2 (RDR2) is one of the biggest open-world games available out there, as it requires a minimum of 150GB of storage space. RDR2 is now facing rumors that it might land on the Nintendo Switch console as well, according to comicbook.com.

The publication mentioned above relies its speculation on what two gaming journalists said. One of them is Stephen Totilo who revealed back in 2021 that he had information about Rockstar Games creating a Nintendo Switch version for RDR2. That claim was made in about the same period when he also suggested that the GTA Trilogy is under development. We all know that the GTA Trilogy was indeed released – a remake for GTA 3, GTA Vice City, and GTA San Andreas created by Rockstar itself. The bundle wasn’t released too well by the public, by the way.

Another journalist known as Nacho Requena said that there will be a new Nintendo Direct airing this year in late June and that it’s focused on third-party games. It will also be featuring a 4-year-old game, he says. That game might be no other than Red Dead Redemption 2 since Rockstar’s blockbuster turns four this year.

Red Dead Redemption 2 won more than 175 Game of the Year Awards and also being a recipient of over 250 perfect scores. You can buy the game from Steam for 29.99 euros for the standard edition or pay 6 euros more for the Ultimate Edition.

The action in RDR2 takes place in America in the year 1899, and it follows the tale of outlaw Arthur Morgan, along with the infamous Van der Linde gang.

Currently, the game works for Google Stadia, PC, and the usual consoles: PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. There’s also possible to run RDR2 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S, although there are no native versions of the game supported by those current-gen platforms.
