Pokémon GO Fest Returns To Normal This Year

This year’s Pokémon Go Fest will be held in person by Niantic, but it will remain a worldwide event, much like the former two.

The ability to walk outdoors and capture wild Pokémon is a big draw of Pokémon Go. Niantic had to make adaptations during lockdowns because of the outbreak, however.

Pokémon Go Fest, which had previously been held in select places, has now been made available online for gamers to participate in from the comfort of their own homes. Niantic intends to restore back to normality in 2022, despite the benefits of making it a global event.

Pokémon Go Fest 2022

Mark your calendars—this year’s Pokémon GO Fest will be a two-day global event on Saturday, June 4, 2022, and Sunday, June 5, 2022, with a bonus finale event on Saturday, August 27, 2022!

But wait—there’s more! We’re thrilled to announce that this summer will also feature in-person Pokémon GO Fest events in the following locations:

Friday, July 1, 2022, to Sunday, July 3, 2022: Berlin, Germany

Friday, July 22, to Sunday, July 24, 2022: Seattle, WA, USA

Friday, August 5, 2022, to Sunday, August 7, 2022: Sapporo, Japan, reads the announcement.

Pokémon Go Fest 2022 will be a two-day event taking place from June 4 to 5, with a grand conclusion on August 27. During this time, there will be a number of in-person activities. There will be two of them this summer. The first will take place in Berlin, Germany, from July 1 to 3. July 22 to July 24 is when the second event takes place. There will be a third on the 5th-7th of August in Sapporo, Japan.

Neither Niantic nor the events have provided any other specifics, so it’s unclear whether those who participate in person will earn special goodies, such as new Pokémon, or whether those who cannot attend will be able to acquire them in some other way.

Three years ago Pokémon GO Fest was held in Dortmund, Chicago, and Yokohama, and now it will return to the origins of this yearly event, according to the official release.

This April Fool’s Day, Niantic is also launching an April Fool’s event in which the Pokémon Ditto is more often seen in the wild, masquerading itself as other Pokémon using its signature morph ability.
